Gymkhana Series and Dream Catcher

Today was the final Buckle Series gymkhana.

Heather did AWESOME.
She took first for the day
YIPPEE!!
Josh giving her some pointers
and pumping up Cheyenne.
fellow Saddle Club kids
with Wonder Girl and Heather
waiting their turns.
Honey and Wonder Girl did great today.
See the sweaty eyes?
These horses are earning their feed quite nicely!
Honey and Cheyenne were actually dripping sweat today!
Heather showing off the EXCELLENT trophy
that she earned for SECOND place in the Buckle Series.
All Smiles!
This is how Josh feels about it:
all giddy!
We are so proud of Heather.
She really has come along way in her riding.
Even from the beginning of the series,
she is a completely different rider.
She has really only been riding for less than a year
and doing this well already...
One more,
just cause we are proud parents!

Hailey and Payton also got awards.
They competed in only 1 of the gymkhana's
and the family hosting the event wanted something for everyone.
Payton
Hailey

had a contest a while back.
I took 2nd place in it. (Yay me!)
I won a handmade dream catcher.
It is so gorgeous!
and it matches my house perfectly!
Look at that handy work.
I can't wait to get it hung!

Thank you Sydney!!!!

And, of course Halloween.
We did it small this year.
Savannah and Jasmine
all dressed up and ready to
Trick-or-Treat
Payton, Heather and Hailey
ready to chase Savannah and Jasmine
around asking for candy!

How Do We Do it?

Heather got it too.
when I picked her up from school today
she was crying because her legs
hurt so bad.
I felt sorry for her
and told her that
she should have told her teacher
and I would have picked her up!
Tomorrow - day 4 that I am missing from school.
Thank goodness
I have a wonderful student teacher
that I can trust with the kids!

With that being said,
I have 5 sick kids
one sick husband
and me.

How do I keep it all straight??
who had what meds,
what is their temp,
what time did they take it?

This is my system.
Let me show you up close.
Heathers page
temp, time, what she took.
after a while it will look like this.
times, temps and meds.

this is the only way that I can keep it straight in my brain.
especially when I am one of the sick ones.

these also play a major role in my day
We have only had the white one for years
today my wonderful husband
bought two more.
what a genius!
Now I can measure 3 girls at the same time.

We have used a LOT of this:
for Jasmine and Savannah

and this:
for the bigger kids.

So far:
Savannah is fine still
thank goodness!!
Jasmine finally quit running a fever
earlier in the day.
Hailey's fever has been very low.
Payton's fever has been in
the high 101's.
Heather is just starting
and running at 100.
Carina - nothing yet.

Josh, finally can breathe
and is moving around.
Me, well,
no fever, just a cough lingering
from the bronchitis.

So, since we have all gotten it already,
we should be flu sick free for the season.

Gymkhana on Sunday=
hopefully Heather is in top shape=
my plan is that she can roll through it like Savannah did.

B.U.S.Y. with sick

We haven't had the time to work
with Kusco yet.

Things have been a little bit chaotic
around here...

Savannah started running a fever on Friday
and got up to 103.2 degrees.
no other symptoms
just a high fever.
She is fine now, and fever free since yesterday.

Jasmine started on Saturday
thought she was going to run through it like
Savannah,
and today she got worse.
She woke up this morning with 104.2 degrees
and choking on her own flem.
Took her to the dr.
she has Bronchitis.

I started on Sunday
hit 102 degrees
yesterday
went to the dr.
I have Bronchitis.

Josh started his fever on Monday
with body aches all over, to point of wanting to cry.
He went to the dr. today with Jasmine.
Bronchitis and H1N1!

Hailey woke up this morning crying because her knees hurt
and fever of 101.6 degrees.
Guess I will be taking her in later today.
Dr. said the biggest sign of H1N1 is
body aches.
and they can only treat it in the first 24 hrs.

Foster kid came home from school yesterday with a fever,
but today nothing.
keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Only healthy kids at this house
Heather
Payton

I guess 2 out of 6 isn't too bad!!

So maybe this weekend we can work with Kusco.

Also, Sunday is the final gymkhana for the buckle series,
the one the Heather has a good shot for the Buckle.
I hope that if she gets whatever fever thing that
we all got, she is done with it by Sun!

**UPDATE**
Payton got it.
Today after school
fever and achy.

So, just Heather left.

So, My Husband Went to The Auction

Does that sound like the start of a joke???

Well, Josh went to the local auction on Saturday and
you never know what he is going to bring home.
Sometimes he says he will get one horse and
he comes home with 3 or 4.
Ya never know what he is going to call and say he got.

Well, I got a call about 3 yesterday and of course he bought something.
Do you want to guess!?!
what do you see Jasmine?
Josh getting him out of the trailer.
what a cute face!
lots of curiosity from the goats.
meet Kusco.
he is an alpaca.

I know what you are thinking.
And I probably thought the same thing.
but, he is really cute.
we put him in with the goats
to see how he would do.
all the alpaca sites we have found
completely contradict each other.
Some say it is OK to have 1, some say it isn't.
We are experimenting.
he isn't really people friendly yet
but he will be!
checking out the dogs
Midnight and Cookie
showing him who is boss
around this pen.

So far he is pretty funny to watch.
I will try and get some more pictures
of him with the kids.

REALLY?!?

It's October!
I know that I really shouldn't complain.
Some of you are freezing
with lots of snow.
But really??
Can't we have a fall/autumn this year?
